I celebrated my Sweet 16 this year! I threw a little party to celebrate in Downtown Austin with some of my nearest and dearest… friends, family and clients!

Sixteen years of being in business… in Austin… as a creative… all by myself… to say that’s a big deal is an under statement! I’m so honored and grateful to have sustained in this profession for so long. And, it’s all because of the amazing humans in my life!

First, these two… my parents. They are incredibly supportive and two of the most helpful people I’ve ever met. If there is a task that needs to be completed… they are the first to volunteer. From painting my house to helping restore furniture to moving me at least half a dozen times in the past 20 years… they are always first in line to make sure I am taken care of.

Next comes my siblings… this isn’t all of them, but these are a few of the most influential and supportive. They have encouraged me when I didn’t think I could keep going, pushed me to be better, let me photograph them when I wasn’t amazing and still acted like they loved it! They are my people and I’m blessed to be born into awesomeness like this.

These friends of mine… they are everything. Friends I’ve made mostly through this career. Most of them are either clients turned friends, colleagues from the photography or wedding world, or just beautiful souls I instantly connected to and never let go of. They have become my family in Austin and I can’t do life without them.

And, lastly… my clients. You guys are the only reason I’ve been able to call photography my career for so long. You keep coming back and trusting me with the most important moments and milestones in your lives. Just last Summer I had the privilege of photographing the Senior Portraits of a young man who I started shooting when he was only FOUR YEARS OLD!! It’s crazy to think I’ve been doing this that long… but I guess time flies when you’re having fun!
